The Cliff Clayburn Duplication (PG-13)

Genre: Sci-fi, Action, Prison drama

July 3rd 2009: Nuclear Scientist Cliff Clayburn (David Schwimmer) has 24 hours to live. Imprisoned in ADX Supermax Colorado (aka the Alcratraz of the Rockies), he awaits execution the next morning for a crime he didn’t commit.

His last request, which is granted, is to be allowed to continue to work overnight on his beloved time machine.

With minutes to spare, the sadistic governor (Corbin Bernsen) offers Cliff a stay of execution – on the condition that he completes the machine for Uncle Sam. Cliff has no option but to accept.

July 4th 2009: The time machine is about to be tested. There’s just one problem… When it’s switched on, it might create a giant black hole that will swallow the Earth… but experts believe there’s almost no chance of that actually happening…

The machine is switched on and the giant black hole begins to swallow the earth. Luckily, Cliff has a plan: if he can travel a day back in time and kill ‘himself’ before he completes the invention, he can save the planet! Cliff jumps in the machine and sets the controls for the previous day. A fraction of a second after he disappears, the world is destroyed.

July 3rd 2009: Nuclear Scientist Cliff Clayburn has 24 hours to die. Cliff arrives in Colorado and has 24 hours to break into the most secure prison in the world and kill a man on death row: himself!

If he succeeds, both Cliffs will die. If he fails, mankind will be on death row… with no chance of a reprieve.

– Future Cliff will be minus a thumb which is lost in the time vortex (basically so we can tell them apart).

– Because of the time travel nature of this film, this is actually the sequel.
